Yoga styles

A short guide to the yoga styles taught in Israel — and under each style, the courses, retreats and workshops we've gathered from our sources.

Hatha yoga

The classic foundation — postures and breath at an easy pace

Hatha classes hold each posture for several breaths, with clear cues and rests in between. A good starting point to learn the basic postures and build flexibility and stability gradually.

In vinyasa you move from pose to pose in a continuous sequence, each movement paired with an inhale or exhale. Classes are dynamic, vary each time and warm the body.

Good for: People who like movement, fitness and variety
